Anti-CD103 antibody [2E7],Abcam,AB25198

This antibody is reported to have signal inducing activity in a redirected lysis assay and to co stimulate IEL and CD8+ lymph node cells in conjunction with anti TCR in vitro, which runs counter to the usual inhibition of CTL by anti integrins. The property of costimulation is not unique to the mouse since the combination of anti human alpha IEL (intraepithelial lymphocytes) plus anti TCR will produce similar proliferation in human cells, with the exception that CD8+ cells are not stimulated. REACH authorisation Abcam has not and does not intend to apply for the REACH Authorisation of customers' uses of products that contain European Authorisation list (Annex XIV) substances. It is the responsibility of our customers to check the necessity of application of REACH Authorisation, and any other relevant authorisations, for their intended uses.

Scientific Background

Target data Integrin alpha-E/beta-7 is a receptor for E-cadherin. It mediates adhesion of intra-epithelial T-lymphocytes to epithelial cell monolayers. Mice expressing a null mutation of the alpha-E subunit gene exhibit a marked reduction in the numbers of intraepithelial lymphocytes in the gut and in the development of gut-associated lymphoid aggregates, supporting a specific role for this integrin in mediating retention of lymphocytes in the intestinal wall.
