FormulationThis monoclonal antibody is aseptically packaged and formulated in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (150 mM NaCl) PBS pH 7.2 - 7.4 with no carrier protein, potassium, calcium or preservatives added. Due to inherent biochemical properties of antibodies, certain products may be prone to precipitation over time. Precipitation may be removed by aseptic centrifugation and/or filtration.
StorageFunctional grade preclinical antibodies may be stored sterile as received at 2-8°C for up to one month. For longer term storage, aseptically aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at ≤ -70°C. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Scientific Background

CD62L antibody, clone DREG56, recognizes CD62L, also known as L-selectin or LECAM-1, a 74-95 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and cell adhesion molecule expressed on most circulating leukocytes 1 . Ligands for CD62L include CD34, GlyCAM-1, and MAdCAM-1, which require sialyation, fucosylation, and carbohydrate sulfation for recognition 2,3 . Ligand binding mediates tethering and rolling of leukocytes, facilitating entry into secondary lymphoid organs, including lymph nodes and Peyer’s patches, via high endothelial venules (HEVs) 1 . CD62L is also expressed on human embryo trophoblasts and has been proposed to play a role in human embryo implantation 4 .
