Scientific Background

BATF3 (Basic leucine zipper transcriptional factor ATF-like 3, p21SNFT) is a member of the basic leucine zipper family (1,2,5) which dimerizes with Jun proteins and represses activator protein-1 (AP-1) activity (1). BATF3 is required for development of conventional type 1 dendritic cells (cDC1s), which cross-present antigens in the context of MHC class I to naïve CD8+T cells, priming them to become activated cytotoxic CD8+T cells (2-4).Iacobelli, M. et al.
