Butyrophilin-like protein 3 (BTNL3) IgV domain binds directly and specifically to a human Vγ4+ TCR. BTNL3 is a T cell receptor (TCR)-dependent regulators of human gut γδ cells. Human BTNL3 is enriched in expression in gut epithelium. In addition BTNL3 is expressed in neutrophils.
BTNL proteins play an important role in inflammation and immune response.
