Scientific Background
GRB2-related adaptor protein (GRAP) is a member of the GRB2 family of signaling adaptor proteins, and its expression is largely restricted to lymphoid tissues (1,2). Similar to the structure of other members of the GRB2 family of adaptor proteins, GRAP contains a central SH2 domain flanked on either side by SH3 domains that allow for it to directly associate with other signaling molecules (1). Research studies have suggested that, unlike GRB2, GRAP may hinder T cell effector functions by disrupting Ras/MAPK signaling downstream of the T cell receptor signaling complex (3).Trüb, T. et al.
