Human Angiotensinogen (AGT) ELISA Kit,Abbkine,KTE60968
• Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.• Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.• Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination. • Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 °C in the sealed bag provided.• Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.• It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.

Scientific Background
Angiotensinogen is an α-2-globulin that is produced constitutively and released into the circulation mainly by the liver. It is a member of the serpin family, although it is not known to inhibit other enzymes, unlike most serpins. Plasma angiotensinogen levels are increased by plasma corticosteroid, estrogen, thyroid hormone, and angiotensin II levels. Angiotensin is formed from a precursor, angiotensinogen, which is produced by the liver and found in the alpha-globulin fraction of plasma. The lowering of blood pressure is a stimulus to secretion of renin by the kidney into the blood. Renin cleaves from angiotensinogen a terminal decapeptide, angiotensin I. This is further altered by the enzymatic removal of a dipeptide to form angiotensin II.
