Human UDP-glucuronic acid decarboxylase 1 (UXS1) ELISA Kit,Abbkine,KTE60076
• Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.• Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.• Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination. • Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 °C in the sealed bag provided.• Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.• It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.

Scientific Background
UDP-glucuronate decarboxylase (UGD; EC 4.1.1.35) catalyzes the formation of UDP-xylose from UDP-glucuronate. UDP-xylose is then used to initiate glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis on the core protein of proteoglycans. The topology of the deduced 420-amino acid protein was consistent with a type II transmembrane protein. Northern blot analysis of rat tissues detected a single UGD transcript with highest levels in heart, brain, and testes. Substantial levels were also detected in kidney, liver and lung, and lower levels in spleen and skeletal muscle. Western blot analysis demonstrated highest levels of the protein in kidney, liver, and brain, with negligible staining in heart, spleen, skeletal muscle, lung, and testes. Subcellular studies and histochemistry localized the protein to the perinuclear Golgi.
