Scientific Background

PDLIM1 is a cytoskeletal protein that may function as an adapter to bring other proteins (such as kinases) to the cytoskeleton. It is involved in the assembly, disassembly, and directioning of stress fibers in fibroblasts and is required for the localization of ACTN1 and PALLD to stress fibers. Additionally, PDLIM1 plays a crucial role in cell migration and maintaining cell polarity in fibroblasts (By similarity).
