Purified anti-BCAT1 Antibody, BCAT1, W18024A,BioLegend,938002

This clone failed to immunoprecipitate BCAT1 from NTERA-2 lysates. This clone was tested for immunocytochemistry on NTERA-2 cells fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with either methanol or Triton X-100. Both methods resulted in dim staining of BCAT1. We therefore do not recommend the clone for this application.

Scientific Background

BCAT1 is an aminotransferase that catalyzes the catabolism of the branched-chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine, making it an important regulator of the TCA cycle. BCAT1 also plays a role in cell cycle progression, differentiation, and apoptosis. Clinical disorders involved with mutations in theBCAT1gene include hypervalinemia and hyperleucine-isoleucinemia.
