Rat Mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM40 homolog (TOMM40) ELISA Kit,Abbkine,KTE100046

• Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.• Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.• Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination. • Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 °C in the sealed bag provided.• Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.• It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.

Scientific Background

TOMM40L belongs to the Tom40 family. Potential channel-forming protein implicated in import of protein precursors into mitochondria. TOMM40 is the channel-forming subunit of the translocase of the mitochondrial outer membrane (TOM) complex that is essential for protein import into mitochondria.Extraction and antibody-accessibility studies suggested that Tomm40 is embedded within the mitochondrial membrane.Tomm40 was associated with a 400-kD complex containing the mitochondrial import receptors Tom20 and Tom22 and several smaller components. Mitochondria-targeted preproteins interacted with the Tomm40-containing complex during their transit to the mitochondrial matrix, and immunodepletion of Tomm40 caused the loss of preprotein import activity.
