Sotrovimab (VIR-7831/GSK4182136),Abbexa,abx831600
Sotrovimab (VIR-7831/GSK4182136) is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar expressed in CHO cells, targeting SARS-CoV-2 Spike glycoprotein, for use in laboratory research applications. This product is not suitable for use as medicines or in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications. VIR-7831 (GSK4182136) is a fully human anti-SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibody selected based on its potential to neutralize the virus in vitro, kill infected cells, provide a high barrier to resistance, and achieve high concentrations in the lungs (one of the major sites of infection). VIR-7831 is a dual-action monoclonal antibody that was selected for clinical development based on its potential to both block viral entry into healthy cells and clear infected cells, as well as its potential to provide a high barrier to resistance.
