Scientific Background

ASPP2 is a key regulator that plays a central role in apoptosis and cell growth control through its interactions with proteins such as TP53. It modulates TP53 by enhancing its DNA binding and transactivation function on the promoters of proapoptotic genes. Additionally, ASPP2 inhibits NAE1's ability to conjugate NEDD8 to CUL1, thereby reducing NAE1-mediated apoptosis induction. It also impedes cell cycle progression at the G2/M phase. Notably, its apoptosis-stimulating activity is suppressed by its interaction with DDX42.
