HIF-1 alpha, also known as hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF1A), is a critical regulator of cellular response to low oxygen levels. HIF1A is a transcription factor commonly referred to as a "master regulator of the hypoxic response" for its central role in the regulation of cellular adaptations to hypoxia. Hypoxia contributes to the pathophysiology of human disease, including myocardial and cerebral ischemia, cancer, pulmonary hypertension, congenital heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. A highly specific HIF-1 alpha antibody, essential for studying hypoxia-inducible factors and oxygen homeostasis. This antibody is crucial in tumor hypoxia research, particularly in understanding cancer progression and angiogenesis. It is widely used in studies of metastasis and HIF-1 alpha inhibitors. The HIF1A molecular weight is approximately 120 kDa, and detecting it accurately is essential for understanding its role in the tumor microenvironment. Elevated HIF-1 alpha levels are linked to tumor progression, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Monitoring HIF-1 alpha can provide valuable insights into cancer biology and potential therapeutic targets. This antibody is also validated for CUT&RUN-seq, which is a key application to map protein-DNA interactions on a genome-wide scale using NGS. For Mouse specific Hif-1-alpha rabbit monoclonal antibody, please see ab179483 (clone ID: EPR16897). ab179483 has been confirmed for Mouse sample in WB. We have mixed customer feedback towards the rat specificity so we are unable to confirm and guarantee its performance with rat samples. Please contact technical team for more information. Patented technology Our RabMAb ® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb ® patents . What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody? This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including: - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility - Improved sensitivity and specificity - Long-term security of supply - Animal-free batch production For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies .

Anti-HIF-1 alpha antibody [ESEE122], Abcam, AB8366
Under normoxic conditions HIF-1 alpha has a short half-life. It is largely undetectable in cells or tissues grown under normoxic conditions. It is stabilized only at O 2 concentrations below 5% and upon stabilization under hypoxic conditions HIF-1 translocates to the nucleus. Therefore we recommend western blots using nuclear extracts and running Hypoxia treated samples as positive control ( ab180880 ). Hypoxia can be induced with treatment using certain agents e.g. CoCl 2 or DFO, etc. so proper sample preparation is critical. Want a custom formulation? This antibody clone is manufactured by Abcam.
