Cadherin-2 (CDH2) Antibody is a Mouse monoclonal against Cadherin-2 (CDH2). Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They interact with in a homophilic manner with other cells and contribute to heterogenous cell sorting. They act as a regulator of neural stem cell quiescence by mediating anchorage of neural stem cells to ependymocytes in the adult subependymal zone- upon cleavage by MMP24, CDH2-mediated anchorage is affected resulting in modulation of neural stem cell quiescence. CDH2 may be involved in neuronal recognition mechanisms such as in the hippocampal neurons where they may regulate dendritic spine density.
