Siplizumab, Abbexa, abx831017
Siplizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody biosimilar expressed in Mammalian cells, targeting CD2/LFA-2, for use in laboratory research applications. This product is not suitable for use as medicines or in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications. Siplizumab has been shown to cause depletion of T-cells. It is therefore considered to be an immunomodulator in clinical settings where the depletion of T-cells may have clinical benefits, such as certain autoimmune diseases and T-cell cancers. In addition, preclinical studies have also suggested that siplizumab, by binding to the CD2 receptor, may selectively produce cell death and reduce cancerous cells.
