Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 10 / JNK3 (MAPK10) Antibody, Abbexa, abx011782
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. This protein is a neuronal-specific form of c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs). Through its phosphorylation and nuclear localization, this kinase plays regulatory roles in the signaling pathways during neuronal apoptosis. beta arrestin 2, a receptor-regulated MAP kinase scaffold protein, is found to interact with, and stimulate the phosphorylation of this kinase by MAP kinase kinase 4 (MKK4). Cyclin-dependent kianse 5 can phosphorylate, and inhibit the activity of this kinase, which may be important in preventing neuronal apoptosis. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

Involved in both the initiation and regulation of meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells by phosphorylating a number of transcription factors such as ELK-1. Phosphorylates EIF4EBP1; required for initiation of translation. Phosphorylates microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2) and heat shock factor protein 4 (HSF4) (By similarity). Phosphorylates SPZ1.

Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 7 / ERK5 (MAPK7) Antibody, Abbexa, abx033440
MEK5 and ERK5, a member of the MAP kinase subfamily of the Ser/Thr protein kinases, interact specifically with one another and not with MEK1/ERK1 or MEK2/ERK2 pathways. ERK5 is activated by tyrosine and threonine phosphorylation It is expressed in many adult tissues, abundantly in heart, placenta, lung, kidney and skeletal muscle, but is not detectable in liver. The second proline-rich region may interact with actin targeting the kinase to a specific location in the cell. ERK5 is autophosphorylated on threonine and tyrosine residues when the C-terminal part of the kinase, which could have a regulatory role, is absent.

Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 1 / ERK2 (MAPK1) Antibody, Abbexa, abx010745
ERK2 (also designated extracellular-signal-related kinase 2 or mitogen-activated protein kinase 1), with 360-amino acid protein (about 40kDa), belongs to the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. The activation of ERK2 requires its phosphorylation by upstream kinases. ERK2 is located in the cytoplasm of resting cells and translocates into the nucleus upon extracellular stimuli by active transport of a dimer. ERK2 is essential for placental development and ERK2 in the trophoblast compartment may be indispensable for the vascularization of the labyrinth.
