GFP-Tag Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against GFP-Tag. Protein tags are protein or peptide sequences located either on the C- or N- terminal of the target protein, which facilitates one or several of the following characteristics: solubility, detection, purification, localization and expression. Green fluorescence protein(GFP) is a protein composed of 238 amino acid residues(26.9kDa) derived from the Jellyfish Aequorea victoria, which emits green light(emission peak at 509nm) when excited by blue light(excitation peak at 395nm). GFP has become an invaluable tool in cell biology research, since its intrinsic fluorescence can be visualized in living cells. EGFP contains the double-amino-acid substitutions Phe-64 to Leu and Ser-65 to Thr(previously published as GFPmut1; PMID: 8707053). In contrast to wtGFP, EGFP has a single, strong, red-shifted excitation peak at 488nm. GFPmut1 fluoresces 35-fold more intensely than wtGFP when excited at 488nm, due to an increase in its extinction coefficient(Em). This antibody is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against full-length eGFP and reactive against all variants of Aequorea victoria GFP such as S65T-GFP, RS-GFP, YFP, CFP and eGFP.

Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) Antibody, Abbexa, abx015749
Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) Antibody is a Mouse Monoclonal antibody against GFP. GFP is a 27 kDa protein derived from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria, which emits green light when excited by blue light.GFP cDNA produces a fluorescent product when expressed in prokaryotic cells, without the need for exogenous substrates or cofactors.GFP has become an invaluable tool in cell biology research, since its intrinsic fluorescence can be visualized in living cells.GFP fluorescence is stable under fixation conditions and suitable for a variety of applications.GFP has been widely used as a reporter for gene expression, enabling researchers to visualize and localize GFP-tagged proteins within living cells without the need for chemical staining.Other applications of GFP include assessment of protein protein interactions through the yeast two hybrid system and measurement of distance between proteins through fluorescence energy transfer (FRET) protocols.GFP technnology has considerably contributed to a greater understanding of cellular physiology.

Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) Antibody is a Mouse Monoclonal antibody against GFP. GFP, originally isolated from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria, is one of the best visual reporters for monitoring gene expression in vivo and in situ. GFP is a also convenient marker for use in flow cytometry because it eliminates the need to incubate with a secondary reagent (such as dyes or antibodies) for detection. However, anti-GFP antibody is also widely used for co-immunipreciapitation, co-localization or western blotting for the confirmation of specificity when a GFP fusion protein is expressed in cells. This GFP monoclonal antibody provides a simple solution to detect the expression of a GFP-tagged protein in cells. Because of its ability to spontaneously generate its own fluorophore, the green fluorescent protein (GFP) from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria is used extensively as a fluorescent marker in molecular and cell biology. The yellow fluorescent proteins (YFPs) have the longest wavelength emissions of all GFP variants examined to date. This shift in the spectrum is the result of a T203Y substitution (single-letter amino acid code), a mutation rationally designed on the basis of the X-ray structure of GFP S65T.
